UNIT 1 READING 4 "Seedfolks"

Seedfolks.
This story is about what happens when a young girl named Kim plants some
beans in an empty city lot. Kim’s family left Vietnam and moved to Cleveland
after her father died. Her father was a farmer, and Kim plants the beans to feel a
connection with him. An old woman named Ana has been watching the beans
that Kim planted. The beans have not been growing well, so Ana asks a man
named Wendell to help her take care of the beans. One day, Kim finds Wendell
watering her plants and she is very surprised. Wendell smiles and goes away.
Later that night, Wendell decides to start growing his own plants in the empty lot.
